First, mango butter is not edible when it's used in beauty care products. It requires topical or external application only. Believe it or not, I do have some adults ask me if they can eat it. No, please! It's meant for external beauty care only. It will help to understand how it is made. It is not made from the flesh or pulp of the fruit. Mango butter is made by extracting the fatty oils from the mango seed or pit. Once the oils are extracted, it’s turned into a butter-like consistency.
